Rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
Two old friends met each other on the street. One was down and depressed and when the other asked him why, he replied, “Let me tell you. Three weeks ago, an uncle died and left me $40,000.”
“Wow, That’s a lot of money!” said his friend.
“But you see, two weeks ago a cousin I never know kicked the bucket and left me $85,000 free and clear.”
“Sounds like you should be grateful.”
“You don’t understand!” he interrupted. “Last week, my great aunt passed away. I inherited almost a quarter of a million dollars.”
Really confused by now, his old friend said, “Then why are you so glum?”
“This week, nothing!”
Unfortunately, some people value their possessions more than their friends and family. Never let that be said of you.
Father, I am so thankful for all my friends and family. I pray that You will continue to bless and guide each one of them into all You have for them, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
