“A fool vents all his feelings, but a wise man holds them back.”
I remember that in my teenage years just about every girl I went out with I fell in love with - at least for a couple of weeks. The problem was that I would tell each one that I loved her. I would vocalize the first feeling that would find its way to my brain.
I had to learn to be guided by truth and wisdom rather than by feelings. Feelings can lie. Feelings come and go. A wise man will not allow his feelings to speak for him but will carefully follow after truth.
Never share words or make commitments that you may regret in the days to come.
Father, help me to walk carefullly in all my relationships. I will not vent my feelings but will hold them back and diligently follow truth, in Jesus' name. Amen.
