|Starfield To Release Sophmore Album
08 May 2006
“Our generation tends to use things as substitutes for God – material things, knowledge, relationships, sex – but all these things were created by God,” says Starfield’s frontman Tim Neufeld. “We try to take these broken pieces and substitute them for the Creator, but the created will never fulfill us.”
“These are the things our generation can’t come to grips with,” adds Tim’s brother and Starfield guitarist/vocalist Jon Neufeld. “The song ‘My Generation’ deals with that in a corporate sense, as an anthem that speaks for more than just ourselves, while the rest of the album begins to pose an answer.”
Award-winning Sparrow Records’ band Starfield announces the release of their second studio album, Beauty in the Broken, slated to release May 16. The album not only recognizes the vastness of God in His sovereignty, but also our ability to worship this God of the universe on a deep and personal level.
Produced by GMA Award winning Ed Cash (Chris Tomlin, David Crowder Band, Steven Curtis Chapman, Bebo Norman, Caedmon’s Call, others) and GMA Award nominated Matt Bronleewe (Natalie Imbruglia, Jars Of Clay, Michael W. Smith, Rebecca St. James, others), Beauty in the Broken is the follow-up to their critically acclaimed, self-titled debut release in 2004. The new album echoes Starfield’s skill in crafting passionate, authentic songs and features the current R&R hit radio single, “My Generation,” a song that reveals a desire to offer something relevant to their listening audience.
Eager to live out their vision of impacting their generation, and writing from their own personal struggles, Starfield’s resulting album, Beauty in the Broken, is already garnering widespread critical acclaim:
“Starfield takes listeners on an enduring spiritual journey toward hope, reverence and greater dependence on Christ. A shooting star worth catching …consider Starfield one to put on the ‘must catch’ list.” –CCM Magazine
“Starfield and the producers have crafted an artistic and inspirational masterpiece. Beauty in the Broken not only features well-polished, captivating music but also has thought-provoking lyrics that should help it stand as one of the musical highlights of the year.” –Christian Retailing “Top Pick”

“With these catchy, energetic, and sonically immaculate tunes, Starfield draws you easily into their web of worship. Beauty in the Broken will win over every cynic and bless them in the process.-Grassrootsmusic.com
