21 August 2006
Shawn McDonald will cover serious ground between the US, Great Britain and the former Soviet Union in the next seven days, performing in Latvia, Estonia and on stage at Greenbelt and Flevo, two of Europe’s largest, longest standing music events. Known for their eclectic draw of artists and fans, this year Greenbelt and Flevo will accommodate a combined audience of over 36,000 passionate fans from all over the world. McDonald joins Blindside, My Morning Jacket, Fuselab and Daniel Bedingfield at the 33 year-old Greenbelt festival, held outside of Cheltenham, England. Flevo, the younger of the two festivals, premiere’s a progressive entourage of international and domestic performers and this year that list includes DJ Andy Hunter, DJ Maj, Mat Redman, The Violet Burning and Luna Halo. Shawn’s European visit is not limited to festivals, and his itinerary includes performances in churches, a jazz club and a Latvian area orphanage, where Shawn has a special morning planned with the kids who live there.
Stateside fans will have the opportunity to experience Shawn’s unique performance style ‘live’ this fall, when he returns to the US from Europe to begin The “Ripen” Tour. The tour kicks out in late August and runs through November and stretches from California to Florida and up into the Northeast.
