|SHANE & SHANE HEADLINES FALL 2006 TOUR
21 August 2006
Best-selling, award nominated twosome Shane & Shane takes its act on the road again with a 30+-city fall tour, kicking off later this month. Joining the Shanes will be Essential Records artist Warren Barfield and Dualtone Music Group trio, The Peasall Sisters.
Shane and Shane continue to sell out venues of more than 1500 seats, including colleges and universities nationwide. The fall 2006 tour will be no different. Launching August 20 in Siloam Springs, Ark., the tour’s initial leg features The Peasall Sisters who will make a guest appearance through early September. The tour’s second half will feature Warren Barfield exclusively as featured opener for Shane and Shane.
“We’re excited about the opportunity to tour with two artists we really respect and admire this fall,” says Shane Everett of Shane and Shane. “The Peasall Sisters are really close to the heart of God, and I think you’ll see a fun, new dynamic with this leg of the tour. As for Warren Barfield, we get to spend time sharing the stage with someone known not only for playing barefoot, but for bringing a really special element into what we provide our fans.”
Warren Barfield notes, “I first heard of Shane & Shane before either of us were signed artists. When I was traveling around as an indie artist, I often had people tell me I should check them out and do some shows with them. Well, here we are many years later and I'm finally taking the advice and touring with the Shanes. I’m expecting every night of this tour to be something worth being a part of. I look forward to seeing the fans again, and sharing this season with a couple of guys whose art and ministry I have admired from afar for a long time.”
Shane Everett and Shane Barnard formed the duo, Shane & Shane, after meeting at Central Baptist Church in Killeen, Texas in the late 90’s. In December 2001, Shane & Shane signed with Inpop Records, home to such notable acts as newsboys, Superchick, Paul Colman, Tree63 and others. Since then, the acoustic-guitar wielding pair has become a college-circuit favorite with five label releases to its credit, and countless hours logged on the road., including tours alongside Bethany Dillon, David Crowder Band and Robbie Seay Band, Mat Kearney, Shaun Groves, Ginny Owens, and Monk & Neagle, among others. Last September, the duo released An Evening With Shane & Shane CD/DVD, taped before a live audience at Space Way Studios in Duncanville, Texas. In total, the band’s career sales exceed 300,000 units. Carolina-born singer/songwriter Warren Barfield released his highly-anticipated sophomore album Reach in Spring 2006. Recorded in Los Angeles with producer Marshall Altman (of Marc Broussard fame), Reach features a soulful-pop sound and captures the intensity of Barfield’s signature concert vocals. Currently, the album’s second radio single “Come Alive” is climbing the AC and CHR charts. Barfield was one of the most successful acts to break in 2003, with his self-titled debut delivering two top ten singles with “My Heart Goes Out” and “Mistaken,” along with being voted the No. 1 New Artist of 2003 by R&R Magazine.
