In addition to hitting mtvU, Hawk Nelson has been traveling across the country from New York to LA with summer festivals and media blitzes. Recently they spent a day in New York City interviewing with Launch Radio Network, Popstar, and FUSE Network along with performances at Billboard and Music Choice (photos attached). While in LA, Hawk Nelson taped an entertainment feature with the top-rated KTLA Morning Show, which airs Thursday (August 31). The band also appeared on the video countdown show on Much Music as well as taped a segment for the International Music Feed. Also this summer, radio fell in love with Hawk Nelson’s first single from the sophomore project, “Everything You Ever Wanted.” The single stood strong at No.1 on the CHR chart for nine consecutive weeks.
Plowing ahead full force, Hawk Nelson will be headlining the fall Smile, It’s the End of the World tour (dates below), which will be in key markets such as Las Vegas, Houston, Nashville, San Diego and Los Angeles. The tour will consist of House of Blue shows (Anaheim, Las Vegas) as well as a TGIFriday/Wal-Mart opening in LA. The tour will be sponsored by Absolutepunk.com, Rockstar Energy Drink, and Xbox. Following their Smile tour, Hawk Nelson will join the Beyond Measure Tour with Jeremy and Adie Camp.
This powerhouse, punk foursome hailing from Canada has won the hearts of fans and media nationwide since their debut release in June 2004 with Letters to the President. Since their national debut, HAWK NELSON has appeared on NBC’s American Dreams, had a cameo appearance in the hit Nickelodeon film Yours, Mine, & Ours, where they played their original song “Bring Em Out,” as well as had their songs featured on NBC’s 2006 Stanley Cup promo spots, WB’s Smallville, Summerland and NBC’s 2004 Summer Olympic commercials. This past year, Hawk Nelson has landed on the cover of Breakaway and CCM (Voted Favorite New Band) and in the magazines Tiger Beat, Popstar, and Alloy.com along with a television special with Drake Bell for Yours, Mine & Ours. On April 4, 2006 Hawk Nelson released their sophomore studio release, Smile, It’s The End Of The World, which debuted on the Billboard 200 with their strong debut week sales. Smile, It’s The End Of The World is a positive response to a negative situation. This project is a more intense and deliberate in what the band has to say, yet it has all the fun, energetic elements that the fans have come to know and love.
