I’m going over to a friend’s house when I was in high school, it was a dance, some kind of homecoming or something like that. She comes down the steps, and I remember when she opened the door she ripped her dress. So, as a guy, that, you know, that doesn’t start the night off very well. So she runs back upstairs, locks herself in her room.
I end up spending the entire night on a couch, you know, with her parents, watching reruns of, I don’t know, “Saved By the Bell,” “Different Strokes,” things like that, while she up in her room, just hanging out, putting more hairspray on – at least that’s what she told me later, putting more hairspray on, putting more toenail polish, putting more lipstick on, waxing her eyebrows, doing all that good stuff, you know.
But she came back down and I remember saying, “Hey, listen, I don’t care, you know, I don’t care how much hairspray you have on, I don’t care what your lipstick looks like, I don’t care what your toenail polish color is,” I just care about you, you know what I mean? Who you are as a person. And I love hanging out with you and I love you from the inside out.
So making the video was awesome. We kind of reenacted that whole scene, and I had a lot of friends come out to be the uh, to actually, form the dance party or whatever you want to call it. And they had a lot of fun.
So it was, it was a great experience.
