Third Day Launches Tour Mixing Worship and Mission 20 February 2006
The Christian band Third Day has launched an eight-week, 36-city tour that's meant to move audiences to both worship and missions.
Bass guitar player Tai Anderson, who's just back from Uganda, is urging Third Day fans to help World Vision rehabilitate children who escape from forced service in a murderous rebel army.
He says they're kids who desperately need grace, forgiveness and a fresh start after being forced to commit atrocities.
Anderson says the missionaries he saw in Africa are like the innkeeper in Jesus' parable of the Good Samaritan. He's asking Third Day fans to be like the Samaritan who pays an innkeeper to care for the wounded victim. Otherwise, he says, there's something empty about our worship.
