|HILLSONG UNITED MAKES RARE TRIP TO THE U.S.
24 August 2005
Australia's top worship band, Hillsong United, made a rare trip to the U.S. this week. On a personal invitation from Michael W. Smith, the youth worship band came to Nashville to perform two shows at Smith's Rocketown, the music venue/skate park he founded. Church and youth groups from as far away as Florida, Pennsylvania and Illinois were among the more than 1,600 kids who packed the two shows at Rocketown, the first time the club has needed to add a show due to overwhelming reservation response, according to Smith.
Hillsong United is the youth worship band from Hillsong Church in Sydney, Australia. Their latest project, Look To You, was released in the U.S. through Integrity Music Group in May. The band’s Nashville performance was a wrap-up to their summer tour which included stops in Japan, Hong Kong, Scotland, Holland and England.
