My name is Nicolas and this is My World.
I was born from an extra marital relationship. I didn’t know my father, and was the youngest of 3 boys raised by my mom. I was a normal kid who didn’t get into trouble, but went to a school where the majority of the students were from the Ghetto.
It was here that I started to hang out with the wrong crowd and get into trouble. My teenage years were without a doubt the worse part of my life. After my brother committed suicide in 1993, the death of my step dad in 1994, and the death of my mother in 1995, my life became all about stealing, violence, drugs, alcohol, and sex. Near the end of my mother’s life, the social services where I lived placed me in an orphanage. At the Orphanage, I was the wise kid on the outside, but on the inside I was boiling. I was stealing and drinking all the time, and finally I was kicked out.
I went to live with my only brother and I had no rules at all. I could smoke and drink at home and stay out all night. I was selling and taking drugs. I was always thinking of ways to make money illegally, and not be caught by the police. This lifestyle led me to the bottom of a prison cell when I was just 17 years old.
When I was 18, some friends asked me to go to church with them. It was there that I heard the Gospel for the first time. From the moment I heard the Gospel, my heart was touched. I decided to hang on to God. My mind was opened to a life that was more than drugs and money. I began to study and understand the bible. I decidedly gave up my old lifestyle of drinking, stealing, drugs…everything! God comforted me over the loss of my family members, and gave me multiple brothers and sisters in the church.
Today I am giving my life to preach about His love so that others can experience the same joy and freedom that I have. My faith in God is growing. I’ve become stronger in ministry, music, and relationships. The Bible says, “Whoever is in Christ is a new creation. The things of the past are gone, and all things are new”. When God says “all things”, He really means all things!
