Switchfoot - Switchfoot - Meant to Live Video

Yeah, you look at the front page, the headlines, you look at what’s going on in the world right now, and there’s a lot of things that I would like to see changed. But, as we said from the beginning, you know, our songs aren’t really about the politics in the Mid-East or even in America, they’re about the politics of the heart. And that’s what this album’s about, the politics of the heart. Wanting to see this change in here. G.K. Chesterton once said that, “The problem with the world is me,” and I can definitely relate to that statement. And Meant to Live is a good song of contrasts, knowing where you want to be and knowing where you’re at. I think, the verse says, “Fumbling is confidence and wondering why the world has passed him by,” and just talks about basically, a guy whose in a place of standstill really, and then knowing that he’s meant to live for more than that, and I think that it’s as though in our world, we’ve forgotten how to fly and we’ve got wings. And I want to see the world begin to know how to fly again
