Have you ever felt that there was something more for you, something bigger that you were built for? Have you ever felt that the current situation you are in just lacks the appeal and desire of your true passion or goal?

Most of the frustration that comes when you think about your desires and dreams for the future is when you look at where you are right now, whether it be in a relationship, a job, school, whatever, and you feel confined and restricted to it. You feel like you’ve hit a brick wall and your nowhere near reaching your desires which is even more frustrating.

It’s in these times that you have to understand two important things; that what you’re doing and where you are at now is going to be the foundation for your future, and second is that God wants you to live an awesome life right now!

Jeremiah 29:11 - “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future”

God has you in this place for a specific purpose. It might not be what you are looking for, it may not be as glamorous or as fun as you would like it to be, but He has you here so He can get your attention, a place where you can focus on Him and be intimate with Him. It is in times and places like this that God’s Spirit is going to move and work inside of you, building your character, building your integrity, and preparing you for the dreams and desires you have.

God is going to build character in those who are willing to live for Him and trust in Him, despite how frustrating or restricting the situation around them feels like. The desires and dreams that God put in your life were put there so that you can exercise your faith in Him.

Finally, never underestimate your current situation. God wants you to have an awesome and fulfilled life right now!

John 10:10 (the message) says, “I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.”

Take ownership of the situation you are in right now no matter how you feel about it, grab a hold of the promise God gave to you in His Word and expect to see it in your everyday life. It’s not just something to hope for in the future, but it’s something that is alive and will be yours today if you trust in Him.

Philippians 4:6,7 -Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

I challenge you today not to stop dreaming or pursuing your passion and goals, but to let go of all the anxiousness, all of the frustrations, and all of the fears that you might have of how you are going to achieve your goals and dreams and give them to God. I challenge you to not only live the best life that He has for you today, but allow Him to build character in you to carry you to the high calling that He has for you.
